Vijay Gurramkonda – Senior Director, India Engineering

Vijay started his career in collections technology more than 22 years ago and has come back to the industry to build InterProse's engineering and operations team in India. Off the clock, you'll find him on the tennis or badminton court, or cheering on Argentina's national soccer team.

Where did you grow up?

I'm originally from Hyderabad, India. I spent a significant part of my professional life in the United States, particularly in Indiana and Utah, before eventually returning to Hyderabad. Having lived and worked in both countries has given me a unique perspective on people, cultures, and how teams collaborate across the globe.

What's your educational background?

I earned my Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University in Hyderabad. I then moved to the United States to pursue two Master's degrees from Ball State University in Indiana — one in Computer Science and another in Information and Communication Sciences.

Although I started in Chemical Engineering, my passion for technology led me toward software development, and I've never looked back!

What's your professional background?

I've spent over 22 years in the technology industry, starting as a software engineer and eventually moving into senior leadership roles overseeing software engineering, technology strategy, and business operations.

Interestingly, my career started in the collections industry at Ontario Systems, where I worked on FACS, Artiva, and Collect Savvy. From there, I moved into healthcare technology, financial services, and logistics, working with organizations such as GE Healthcare, Atlas Development, Progrexion, and North American Services.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to build and lead global engineering teams, drive large-scale digital transformations, modernize enterprise platforms, and help organizations leverage cloud technologies and AI.

What I've enjoyed most throughout my career is building great teams, solving complex problems, and seeing technology make a meaningful difference to businesses and their customers.

What originally drew you to InterProse?

What attracted me to InterProse was the opportunity to return to an industry where I started my career, but with a fresh perspective and a wealth of experience gained across several other industries.

Having worked extensively with legacy collections platforms like FACS and Artiva, I understand many of the challenges agencies face. InterProse's ACE platform and its vision for modernizing collections technology presented an exciting opportunity to bring together my industry knowledge and experience in building scalable, modern software solutions.

Equally important was the opportunity to build and grow a strong engineering and operations team in India while contributing directly to InterProse's long-term growth and customer success.

What hobbies do you enjoy?

I'm a big sports enthusiast, especially soccer, tennis, and badminton. I'm a passionate supporter of Argentina's national soccer team, and there's nothing quite like the excitement of watching them compete on the world stage! I also enjoy playing tennis and badminton whenever I get the chance. Both sports are a great way to stay active, unwind, and bring out my competitive side. Whether I'm on the court or cheering for my favorite team, sports have always been a big part of my life.

Outside of sports, I'm a bit of a technology enthusiast. I enjoy exploring emerging technologies, particularly AI, and keeping up with innovations that are changing the way we live and work. I guess you could say I have a hard time switching off my curiosity, even when I'm not working!

Where do you feel you make the greatest impact for our customers?

Although I'm relatively new to InterProse, I bring more than two decades of experience in building enterprise software solutions and leading technology organizations.

I believe my greatest impact comes from connecting our customers' business challenges with practical technology solutions. My experience with legacy collections platforms, combined with modern engineering practices, helps me understand both where our customers are coming from and where they want to go.

My focus is on building strong teams, establishing repeatable and reliable processes, improving data migration capabilities, and ensuring that our customers have a smooth transition to ACE.

Ultimately, I want our customers to feel confident that they have a technology partner who understands their business, delivers on commitments, and is genuinely invested in their long-term success.
